China: lower profits for leather and footwear while the exemption from duties for goods from 16 countries is awaited

Official Website of China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) informs that the overall situation of China Leather industry in the first half of 2022 shows total profit of leather and footwear going down 0.8% year on year but, to enhance regional value chains, China grants zero-tariff for 16 countries taking effect on September first

 

 

The above designated large size of enterprises in leather, fur and its products, as well as footwear achieved revenue of 551.12 billion yuan, up 6.5 percent year on year. The total profit of above products was 24.97 billion yuan, down 0.8% year on year.

 

According to the news from website of the Ministry of Finance, Tariff Commission of the State Council grants zero-tariff to 98% of the tax items from the 16 least developed Countries export to China that takes effect on September 1, 2022. In accordance with the Announcement of the Tariff Commission of The State Council the products originated from 16 least developed countries export to China will enjoyed tariff rate of zero, these least developed counties are Togo republic, the republic of Kiribati, the The Republic of Djibouti, Kiribati , the republic of Guinea, the Kingdom of Cambodia, Lao people's Democratic Republic, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Nepal, Sudan, the Solomon Islands, the republic of Vanuatu, Chad and the Central African Republic. The 98% of the tax items include a total of 8,786 items listed in Announcement of the Tax Commission No. 8.
