In Zimbabwe, leather shoe production has plummeted to 1.5 million pairs per year from a peak of 17 million in the 90s. To revive the leather sector, last year the government launched the Zimbabwe Leather Sector Strategy (2021-2030) to increase investment in the sector and maximize added value.
