LWG, SLF and ICEC sign at Lineapelle the COTANCE initiative of Leather Traceability

The Terms of Reference foresee the enlargement of the group to relevant Intergovernmental Organisations, such as UNIDO or UNECE, NGOs and Livestock sector organisations. Leather is no driver of deforestation, COTANCE insists

The leather industry’s representative body in the European Union, COTANCE, has issued a statement to refute claims in a recent report from campaign group Global Witness linking the leather industry to deforestation in the Amazon, reports Leatherbiz.
