Mexican imports of Brazilian footwear down 17%

As detailed by the Brazilian entity, in the first month of 2023, footwear exports from Brazil to Mexico reached an amount of about 2.3 million dollars, which in terms of value represents a decrease of 17% compared to January 2022, when Mexico had imported Brazilian footwear worth 2.8 million dollars.

As for the analysis by volume, the Abicalçados report confirms that in January of this year, 360,605 pairs of Brazilian-made shoes entered the national territory, a figure 28.5% lower than that recorded in the first month of 2022, when 504,330 pairs entered.

With these results, Mexico became in January the eleventh global destination for footwear of Brazilian origin and the fifth regionally, after Argentina, Colombia, Panama and Chile.
