Work on the Curtidor Industrial Park of Villa Jardín, in Lanús, began in 2019, after the sewers were built.

About 30 tanneries currently operating in the Riachuelo basin could be installed starting next year in the Curtidor Industrial Park which is under construction in  the ACUBA district of Villa Jardín, in the Lanús area.

The construction of the property, which began in 2019, is already 95% completed, as reported by the Matanza Riachuelo Basin Authority (ACUMAR), which carries out the works supervised by the Municipality of Lanús.

As detailed, in early 2023 about 30 tanneries that are already planning to relocate could begin moving into the property in the southern area of Greater Buenos Aires.  According to Acumar records, there are 61 units dedicated to the activity in the Riachuelo basin.

In turn, they are building a central effluent treatment plant (CETP) in the area, which will benefit from the sanitization of the reservoir.

The work began its sewerage phase at the end of 2018, while the CEPT began to be built in 2020. Currently the works in the Curtidor Industrial Park (PIC) are 95% advanced and are expected to be completed. year.

The work includes the construction of electricity, gas, drinking water and industrial processes, sewers, industrial drains, and rainwater, for the establishment of companies in the tanning sector.

"This work promotes the improvement of the infrastructure of small and medium-sized tanneries located in the basin, as well as the shared management and treatment of industrial effluents, while allowing cost savings and a low environmental impact", explain the Municipality of Lanos.
