ENTERPRISE MISSION IN VIETNAM

27 Ноябрь 2017

ASSOMAC participates in the Entrepreneurship Mission in Vietnam scheduled for November 27-29, 2017 and promoted by the Ministries of Economic Development and Foreign Affairs, organized by Confindustria, Ice Agency, Abi, Unioncamere and the Conference of Regions. The Italian delegation is led by Undersecretary Ivan Scalfarotto, together with Michele Scannavini (President of Ice Agency), Licia Mattioli (Vice-President for Internationalization of Confindustria) and Guido Rosa (Vice-President for Internationalization of the Banking Association).

The one that starts in Hanoi is the "third business mission" after the two that took place in 2008 and 2014.

The mission will be multi-sectoral with a focus on: Infrastructure and Transport; Renewable Energies and Green Technologies; Mechanics (ASSOMAC has been invited to participate for the leather / tanner industry); Medical and pharmaceutical. On November 28 will be held the Business Forum Italy-Vietnam, devoted to political-economic relations between the two countries and the opportunities for collaboration and investment offered by the market.

During the same mission will be held the Italy-Vietnam Joint Commission of Economic Cooperation meeting of which ASSOMAC is part.

After the Hanoi stage, the Italian institutional mission will move to Ho Chi Minh City. For the occasion, Undersecretary of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development Ivan Scalfarotto will visit on November 29 the Italian-Vietnamese Footwear Industry Center inaugurated in July 2017.

Assomac will also continue its meetings with Leather and Shoe Research Institute (LSI), which has been seeking cooperation to modernize its center, which operates in the footwear and tanning industry.

Vietnam has invested a lot on the development of a local manufacturing industry to support its own growth rates. The machinery sector therefore has a considerable potential for Italian companies in the sector. Machines for industrial use continue to represent the most important item of Italian exports to Vietnam. In the framework of a development model focused heavily on attracting investment in the manufacturing sector, also in order to emancipate the country from China's commercial dependence, the machinery sector is of cross-interest for Italian companies with a focus on leather processing and footwear (a sector that provides a contribution of 4-5% to GDP and exports of finished products to an annual growth of more than 15); food processing (considering the strong deficiencies of conservation and treatment systems); machining of rubber and plastic; textile machinery.
