The first Italian-Vietnamese Technology Centre has been opened in Vietnam. Created by ASSOMAC with the financial support of the Ministry of Economic Development (MiSE) and the Italian Trade Agency, its chief aim is to further the development of the local industry.
The Technology Centre has a complete line of Italian footwear-production machinery and equipment, marking a major step forward in the local promotion of Italian technology.
Furthermore, with the aid of PISIE, ASSOMAC has professionally trained the Centre’s employees with more courses scheduled throughout the year.
As well as the ASSOMAC President, Gabriella Marchioni Bocca, the opening was attended by the Vietnamese Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Cao Quoc Hung, the Italian Ambassador in Vietnam Cecilia Piccioni and other prominent local figures. The President and Vice President of LEFASO Nguyen Duc Thuan and Diep Thanh Kiet were also present as well as the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City office of the Italian Trade Agency Paolo Lemma.
The opening of the Centre in the environs of Ho Chi Minh City, in the LEFASO (the association representing Vietnamese footwear and leather-goods manufacturers and tanners) Centre took place during Shoes and Leather Vietnam, on until 14 July and attended by an Italian Trade Agency-ASSOMAC collective comprising more than 30 companies.
