US business study shows negative impact of tariffs on China

A study Impacts of Section 301 Tariffs on Imports from China: Case Studies of Apparel, Footwear, Travel Goods and Furniture  has called out the ‘detrimental economic impacts’ of the massive tariffs imposed on consumer goods from China, saying that the trade war has led to higher costs and prices for American companies and families. Supply chains avoid China

More and more companies are shifting their supply chains away from China. Apple plans to make some MacBooks in Vietnam next year, Nikkei reported, while major international automakers aim to gradually shift production away from China, according to the Financial Times.

European manufacturing slows down

Growth in Europe’s two largest economies slowed sharply as manufacturers suffered from a dearth of demand, increasingly strained supply chains and surging prices. With the initial boost from a loosening of Covid-19 restrictions in Germany and France wearing off, gauges of activity fell more than expected in June. Manufacturing output contracted in both countries. This was reported by Bloomberg, commenting on the surveys of S&P Global.

USA, "Our sector" (consumption, clothing, etc...) worsens
