That information was said by Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in a press conference providing information on socio-economic issues in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of February 23.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that the Department had just discussed with the human resources department of PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. and had an official announcement about the number of workers to be cut. Accordingly, the company will not continue to sign contracts with 2,500 workers and employees in March, the rest will be handled according to contractual relationships and legal regulations from now until the end of 2023.

At the same time, the company will coordinate with the grassroots trade union to meet and notify the employees of the time of contract termination and the reduction of benefits for employees. 

Currently, PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. is consulting the corporation in Taiwan on additional support policies for employees.

Previously, in November 2022, PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. had given nearly 20,000 workers, workers arranged to take rotating leave, due to the difficult order situation. In February 2023, the company continued to cut 3,000 employees.
