A startup's direct air capture plant in Iceland is the only major operational carbon removal project in the world

Startup Climeworks says it has come up with a way of making carbon credits more credible. It said today that it now uses a third-party verification process to certify its service of sucking carbon dioxide from the air and storing it underground. It’s the first time a company has achieved that on a meaningful scale using an outside auditor, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Declining sales in China hurt raw hides and skins exports from the U.S.

Between January and October 2022, packers, traders and tanners in the US exported 25.8 million hides, with a total value of just under $1.1 billion. U.S. Leather Industry Applauds Adoption of ‘Leather’ Definition by Textile Exchange

The Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA), the trade body representing the U.S. hide, skin, and leather industry, applauds fashion industry standards and certification organization Textile Exchange for its recent adoption of an official definition of “leather” as a material created from the hide or skin of an animal. LHCA encourages other organizations and companies in the fashion and footwear sectors to follow suit in order to encourage increased transparency in materials labeling. Annual Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) nearly doubled to $83 billion as 'Make in India' completed eight years

As the flagship government programme ‘Make in India’ completes eight years, foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow into the country rose to $83.6 billion in fiscal 2021-22 from $45.15 billion in 2014-2015. The current fiscal’s FDI target is $100 billion. FDI came from 101 countries and was invested across 31 states and union territories and 57 sectors.
