An increase of more than 100% in imports worries the Brazilian footwear industry

The Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (Abicalçados) is concerned about the latest data on Brazilian footwear imports. According to the entity, in January, footwear imports reached the value of US$ 49 million, 104% more than in the same month of last year. Record participation of Brazilian footwear brands in Expo Riva Schuh

The Brazilian Footwear, a program to support exports of footwear maintained by the Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Agency for The Promotion of Exports and Investments (ApexBrasil), is preparing the participation of 57 Brazilian footwear brands in Expo Riva Schuh.

Brazilian footwear exports grew 64.8% through July to $763.4 million

Brazil: The recovery of the Brazilian footwear industry is at risk due to to the new Argentine restrictions on the import of shoes

We learn from the news @abicalçados, that Argentina is reinstating restrictions on footwear imports, hurting Brazilian exports, just as Abicalçados confirmed that the footwear industry had achieved its best job creation result since 2004 in May. Argentina is the second largest export market for Brazilian footwear and the footwear association has complained about it to  Mercosur Commission and Argentine Embassy.
